Lip Shopping

I can’t help but try and find ‘the perfect’ of each makeup product. I’ve found the perfect mascara, the perfect eyeliner, i’ve found the perfect contour and i’ve found the perfect brow powder. So, on Thursday I made it my goal to find the perfect nude lipstick for my skintone.

So I bought 5 lip colours and 3 balms.

I’ll start with the goods: The Malibu Lip Balms are so nourishing for my lips. They make them so smooth. The flavours aren’t much to be honest, but that might just be that I can’t taste them or smell them properly as I have a cold! I bought this 3 pack from a bargain shop for like £1.50 & i’m so happy I did!

Next up is Maybelline’s colour sensational lipstick in the shade 710 sultry sand

This sells at boots for £6.99. I originally thought that this was going to make me look like a zombie looking really ill. I apply a little bit of this onto my lips and it gives just the perfect amount of colour. This just completes a natural look off! I love the packaging of this and the way it feels on my lips – nice & light/ moisturising.

w7 Lip Twister in PINK

w7 is a smaller brand that i’ve liked previously, so when I saw this lip liner in a nice nude shade I was keen to see if it was actually a nice nude liner!! 100% happy with this! This is my lips but better. It matches my lip colour and fills in my icky lip scar! This costed me about £1.99. It glides onto the lips smoothly and so far has lasted well on the lips!

Beauty UK lip lust in no.3 date night

This is the best lip product that I have ever bought. It was £1. Let’s just read that again and absorb the information. It was £1. This has a spongey applicator and you squeeze the tube and a bit of colour and gloss comes out. I had glosses with a passion. They’re ALWAYS too sticky or too pigmented or whatever…. This? This is perfect. This, to me, feels as light as vaseline on the lips. The shade is a perfect neutral colour for my lips so I will 100% be wearing this everyday!

Next up are 2 MUA products. the Power Pout Acrylic in the shade unwrapped

which sells for £3. I applied this normally, like how I would any other lip product, and this was horrible! Far too thick, far too pigmented and far too cakey! But, I find that when I am wearing lipbalm underneath it and dab 1 or 2 dots of the product onto my lips and blend it in with the lip balm using my finger. This makes it look ok – i’m not fussed, but I do try and find a plus side to all products I buy as I hate waste!

Lastly is the lipstick in ‘barely there‘. Do not buy this. This is disgusting. This is thick and chalky and pale and goes into all the fine lines in your lips. Do not buy this. For £1 it’s not too much of a miss, but I am very disappointed in MUA as I usually love their products!

So those are all my new lippies! Any that you recommend I try? If so i’d love to hear about them!

Sorry for the lack of posts, I swear i’ll try to do more!

1 good 1 bad: Maybelline New york.

So over the past week I have been posting about my ‘top 5’ favourite products of 2014. I feel as though there are some that deserve the spotlight though! However, there were some that I had tried out that were just disappointing. I thought it would be interesting to go through each brand that I love – Maybelline, Soap & Glory, Rimmel London, Seventeen etc. So, I suppose that will be what i’ll be posting about for the next couple of posts!

If you have been reading my blog for long enough, you’ll know that I am a fan of Maybelline’s mascaras. I absolutely adored the ‘falsies flared’ mascara and used it all of 2013 and a bit of 2014. However, when I saw Maybelline doing a 3 for 2 I decided it was time for me to try some new ones! I have tried 5-6 different Maybelline mascaras and I can honestly tell you that they are each brilliant in their own way. There are some that I like for certain looks, one that I like to use for just my lower lashes and some that I like for everyday use. I am yet to be full-on disappointed with a Maybelline mascara and no doubt, I will be telling you about it if I find one!

The mascara that I’m talking about is the beautiful Maybelline – the volum’ express colossal smokey Mascara. This one costs £7.99. This gives my lashes beautiful volume and length. No clumps either! I wear this one for a natural everyday look using one coat. For a more dramatic look, this one can be used layered up. Brilliant product! A makeup bag must-have.

HOWEVER, Maybelline isn’t 100% in everything. I bought Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara and found nothing but disappointment. When in boots I was recommended this one by a sales woman and she told me it was just as good as the Benefit brow products that I had previously tried. This costed £4.99, I know it’s not that expensive, but still – a waste of money! I didn’t like the formula and found that unlike the benefit brow product that it didn’t thicken my brows up, didn’t fill them in and just gave them a weird tint. Disappointing that it didn’t even match my brow colour. ALSO, I find that this one clumps and it is not cute to have clumped eyebrows. Big disappointment, Maybelline. However, maybelline does a nice brow pencil called ‘mastershape’.

MAKEUP: My top 5 eye products of 2014

Soooooooo I have gotten lotsa new products this year. I thought I should tell you guys about which were my favourites! I’ll be doing hair, skin and makeup. I love eye makeup! Recently i’ve been experimenting in different looks. I did a really awesome smokey eye yesterday – hey I could do a tutorial maybe… maybe haha.

So Let’s Go:

Mac 52a4c16a-6bdc-472b-935a-344d6aba1eb5-matte-palette--mua-32253 2213592 download loreal

The first image is of mac prolongwear paintpot in chrome angel. I love this as a base. I put it on  my clean eyelid then do my eyeliner & eyeshadow. It works an angel (hey look at that). You can get this either online or in a shop like house of fraser or Debenhams for £15.50.

Next to that is my MUA matte palette. I love the colours in this. I like to mix this with a shimmer base, or just mixing it with shimmery shadows. It is brill for a smokey eye and also just a plain natural one! For £4, I really can’t see a problem! You can buy this one either online or in Superdrug.

Maybelline do a brilliant gel liner. I loveeeeeeee this! It is brilliant for tight lining, for normal lining and for tight lining! It is so easy to work with as well! Personally I prefer to use a dried out felt tip liner than using a brush. This can smudge out really nicely, but once it has set it has set! Won’t budge! However, It does dry out so don’t have the lid off too long! 🙂 This is £7.99. But, does last quite a long time – I’m pretty sure i’ll find a way to un-dry it out!

Another Maybelline beauty is the colossal volume express smokey eyes mascara. This is so pretty! Volume & length. It is really nice as a single layer and it is also nice to build it up! This one is £7.99

Lastly is the L’oreal liquid liner. It is so easy to apply – really nice applicator. The little inner corner can scrape off though and it’s kinda annoying… but i really do love it! Does a perfect solid line no flakes! Really nice liner 🙂 £6.49

So I hope you try one of my favourites and I hope you end up loving it too! I’d love to know which products you loved this year – maybe comment below and share! Look out for the rest of my 2014 favourites!

Thanks a billion for reading my post(s)

& I hope you are having a brilliant start to the new year! Happy 2015!!

Maybelline Gel liner

I bought the maybelline gel liner today in boots. I am soo happy it came with a brush, as my current eyeliner brush is too thick, whereas the brush supplied with the liner is great for thinner lines.

I’ve many great reviews about this gel liner, so i will keep you all posted on what i think of it etc! I will be posting about this at some point this week and may even post some pictures of how it looks!
