The next foundation i’m buying…

So i said in a previous post that i’m trying to use up all my products before buying a new one. I do have a plan for which products i’m going to be buying when i run out of my staples though, so far i know which foundation… that’s it! So anyway, i’ll tell you which and why.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Nude Foundation.

Image result for rimmel lasting finish nude foundation

Rimmel always nail it when it comes to having light enough tones for pale skin. I got a sample of this like a year ago and i remember loving it. Its ‘new lightweight formula blends smoothly and evenly hiding fine lines & imperfections for a poreless, seamless complexion. The fluid texture is enhanced with a moisturising serum gel for a feeling like you’re wearing nothing at all. Natural-looking, flawless coverage, without the weight. Your coverage remains true from morning to night with a rub and smudge resistant formula for up to 25 hours.’ – Basically it’s got the perfect formula for everyday use.

Because i do have drier skin i prefer this style of foundation. You can buy this in Boots/Superdrug for £8. Shall do a post when i actually buy this and what i think of it.

So thanks for reading! Have you got a foundation you’d recommend? Have you tried this one? What did you think of it? Love to hear what you think!

July Makeup Favourites

Annnd i’m back to the monthly favourites! I’ve been really bad with these this year (let’s blame this one the 3 coursework based A levels, eh?). I’ve found some really good beauty items this month but some more towards the end of the month, so i didn’t really see it as fair to include them… look out for them next month. 😉

So, here are my July Gems:

IMG_9281

FACEY

I’ll start off with my face powders. Seen above are my 2 Soap and Glory blushers and my MUA face powder. Left>>Right Love at First Blush, Peach Party, The Body Shop Honey Bronzer & Skin Define Hydro Powder.

Love at First Blush

This shimmery blusher costs £11. It has to be said that Soap & Glory is more on the high end side of ‘drugstore’ brands. But. This is the perfect Summer blusher. This is a beautiful shimmery shimmery shimmery blusher… Did I mention that it is shimmery? This is a multi shade one too, so if you want simply the highlighter shade you can choose this with a smaller brush. I however just use a blush brush and sweep it through the whole product. You can use a small amount for a subtle glow of pink, or build it up for that wow-look.

Peach Party

Now I definitely didn’t like this at first. This is neither a blusher nor a bronzer, it’s smack bang in the middle, and at first I didn’t know how to work with this. I’ll admit that I had this unused for about a year/year and a half. I picked it out this Summer though and i am in love with the look that it gives. I wear this only really on my cheeks, not around my face like I would a bronzer. I will do a look with this at some stage and show you how it gives the face a lovely Summer glow. This also costs £11.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer

I use the mirror that this has in it everyday to apply my makeup … just as a side-note. This is perfect for us pale girls to use as a soft and subtle bronzer. It’s matte, but more orangey toned, so doesn’t make a good contour. I put this on my cheeks, forehead and just below my chin to get a nice soft summer-skin look. This costs £13.

Skin Define Hydro Powder

I’ve been talking about this powder in quite a few posts recently. But, here I am again! I love this powder. I have finally found the perfect powder for me. This is so finely milled, so you only need a tiny amount on your brush to set your makeup. As I only use a small amount, I never look cakey with this. A perfect product at a perfect, affordable price, only £3. Thanks, MUA.

IMG_9295

Matte Foundation Shade 1 Soft Sand

This was the product that brought me back to foundations. This applies so smoothly on my skin, which is weird as it is a matte one – matte foundations tend to emphasise your pores etc. Just checked online, it looks like they have either repackaged/reformulated this, and the price for it now is £4. This just gives your skin a natural look and has a buildable coverage. Can’t remember it being able to last all day though.

IMG_9294

Matte & Poreless foundation, 105

I’m in love with this foundation. For only £5.99 this is a complete steal in comparison to other ‘drugstore’ brands’ foundation.  I recently did a full review on this, read it *here* just to avoid repetition.

IMG_9293

Stay Perfect 10 hour 001 light

Miss Sporty are a lesser-known and lesser-raved about brand. A lot of their products are misses, but this one is a complete win. This is £2.99. It blends into the skin so easily as it is so creamy. I dab this into my skin using my finger. It’s easy to layer also. Perfect for brightening up the under eyes, just set it with a light powder. One of the only concealer that i’ve found in the drugstore that is pale enough for my skin.

EYES:

IMG_9286

Top>Bottom:

Essence Maximum Definition mascara, Rimmel Black Kohl eyeliner, MUA Matte Black Eyeliner, Freedom Duo Brow Powder, Freedom brow pomade.

IMG_9287

Essence Maximum Definition mascara

The small bristles on this mascara wand hug your lashes and fan them out beautifully. It gives your lashes amazing volume and good length! It’s easy to layer this product as well. Bargain  at only £2.79.

IMG_9288

Rimmel Black Kohl eyeliner

This is only £2.99 and is honestly one of the best eye pencils i’ve ever used. Once you have set this in place it stays on all day. It has really good pigmentation and is easy to use. It also smokes out nicely. I’d say, the more coats you use of it, the more intense the smokey eye will be. In the above photo, the second swatch is one coat blended with my finger whilst the first swatch is one coat of the liner.

IMG_9289

MUA Matte Black Eyeliner

My friend bought this when we were out shopping, tried it that night, when she was getting ready for our night out, and just didn’t like it. She didn’t like how thick the applicator was, so that’s something to consider if you prefer a slim applicator. I don’t find this to be overly thick, i would say it’s a standard liner applicator. ANYWAY. I love this for how I do my eyeliner. I can do it in one sweep and it’s a very true black which stays on all day. I find that the inner corner can wear off some days though. This doesn’t chip off throughout the day though. Good value for a good product. MUA have really upped their makeup game recently, it has to be said. OH. Also this is a true matte liquid. Bravo, great price, only £2. Above, the first swatch is me leaving on the side whereas the second is me leaning significantly lighter and using the point.

IMG_9290

 Freedom Duo Brow Powder

I have this in the shade soft brown and this sells for only £3. If you’re looking for a highly pigmented brow powder then this isn’t the product you’ll like. This has medium pigmentation, which I find makes it really easy to do a soft natural brow, or build it up to a more bold look. I use the lighter shade (left swatch) to fill my brows in and the darker shade (right swatch) to give my brows a more defined shape. This was great for when my hair was blonde, so maybe next time i’m in Superdrug i’ll pick up the darker shade.

IMG_9291

Freedom brow pomade

For £5 this is a complete steal as not many drugstore brands are doing a pomade kind of product for brows. This fills the brows in and also gives you a statement look, depending on how you use it. I dip my brush into this product and wipe excess off into the lid. I start off lightly because it is so much easier to add more product than take some off. This sets the brows in place, so no need for a brow gel to do this. Perhaps I’ll do a pomade tutorial, as I did my powder one recently, click *here* to read that.

LIPS:

IMG_9292

Rouge Edition Velvet Cool Brown

Another one that i’ve been raving about a lot recently. Although I only bought this one recently, I must mention it. I’ve been using it almost everyday. It sets into a comfortable matte shade and is my perfect nude shade. It sells for a bit of a pricey £8.99, but it is completely worth it. Bourjois have completely nailed the liquid lipsticks. Read a full review *here* if you’re interested in finding out more about it.

So those are my beauty favourites. Hope you enjoyed these past  14 days where I’ve been talking about makeup items. I’ve really enjoyed a more dedicated blog routine. I have more to come for the next 2 weeks also! I decided at the start of August to post for 28 days straight! I’ve said it in a post now too, so have to stick to it! So keep an eye out for my upcoming posts, there are some good ones! I have three topics, Makeup, which was this week and last week, hair and body. I’ll probably be talking about university and what I plan on bringing with me to it come September time also! ~Wow, what a range of topics you have to talk about, Steff.

So, anyway, what were you loving in July? Comment below, let me know what I should consider picking up!

Lotsa lotsa love,

Steff x

Liquid Lipsticks: My thoughts

So recently liquid lipstick have been becoming more popular in budget beauty brands, so I couldn’t help but pick a few up from different brands and give them a try! Superdrug is currently doing 3 for 2 across all makeup brands whilst Boots are doing a few different offers, including 3 for 2 on specific brands or money off products – including liquid lipsticks!

I’ve tried a few different liquid lipsticks over the past few years but have only recently found some that i’ve thought much of. I’ve tried from brands such as Collection, MUA, Revolution, Sleek, Maybelline and Bourjois. Some I have thrown out because I just didn’t get along with though, so can’t do swatches for all. I can give a short review on those that I don’t have anymore though!

L>R

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid 35 Rebel Red, 50 Nude Thrill, MUA Whipped Velvet Rococo, Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquer Black Heart, Sleek Matte Me 436 Birthday Suit, Bourjois Rouge Edition 15 Red-volution, 07 Nude-ist.

Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream: Powder Puff & Fairy Cake

This was the first liquid lippie that I bought, for £2.99. I got this like 2+ years ago, before liquid lipsticks had become a thing in Boots/Superdrug. I didn’t really understand how to use these nor how to wear them, so I quickly lost interest as I was more into moisturising lipsticks at the time, not these matte liquid ones. I do remember though that these smelt nice and that I liked the colour of Powder Puff a lot, it was a soft nude. Unfortunately I must have thrown these out though as I can’t find them anywhere in my collection. Perhaps I’ll repurchase, but perhaps not also as i’ve found some really brilliant ones from other brands and this was just OK.

IMG_9221

MUA Whipped Velvet: Rococo

The price of this was £3. I think i’ve even done a review about this before on my page, saying how disappointed I was with it. It was the 2nd liquid lipstick that I had bought, so after that I had low expectations of liquid lipsticks, discouraging me from trying more. This is so strange. It has a horrible sickly sweet smell mixed with the baby powder scent??? The colour of this is nice, a soft pink pastel colour, but because the product itself is so creamy and powdery – like a matte foundation almost, but more liquidy – it doesn’t apply smoothly, but with horrible streaks. Doubt this stays a long time either – if you somehow manage to apply it nicely. All-in-all, a complete miss from MUA. This is the product at the top of the photograph.

Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquer: Black Heart

This one was also sold for £3. This was the 3rd lacquer that I had tried and again I was disappointed – not going well! I tried this January time in the shade Black Heart. When I was swatching the different lippies in the shop there were samples for all shades except this one. I liked the one a shade lighter than this one, but I thought I could go for the darker one because there aren’t many drugstore options for dark ones. The smell of this is horrible. A really chemical smelling one, kinda like pen ink/ hair dye??? I mixed this with lipbalm to try and sheer it out a bit because I like the colour, it’s just way too intense for moi. When I did it was nice, but slipped and slid about way too much. It also goes very flaky when you apply just a little bit and smudge it out. Not what I was expecting from a liquid liner unfortunately. I may try more of these from this brand though, just in a more wearable shade. This is the product at the bottom of the photograph.

IMG_9219

Sleek Matte Me: 436 Birthday Suit

After the disappointing 3, named above, I was in Tesco in March and there was a sleek counter. This was around the time that more brands were releasing their own matte lip creams, so I thought i’d give it a try for £4.99. A neutral nude shade, so what could go wrong? Absolutely nothing, I really loved this. It is the perfect nude with a brown undertone to it. It’s a Kylie Jenner kinda colour. This applies easily and dries matte. This stays on all day, maybe 1 or 2 touch ups, but only if you’re rubbing your lips or whatever. This stays on with eating, drinking and there’s no transfer when kissing either! It does have that dried feeling on your lips, but you get used to this pretty quickly. V good product!

IMG_9218

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick: 50 Nude Thrill & 35 Vivid Red

50: I’ve found the lipstick that i’ve been looking for for years! This is my lips but better. Finally. I’ve only had this a day, so haven’t been able to wear it a full day yet, but it has a nice satin finish – not matte. I’ve found though, dabbing it with a tissue makes it dry matte, if this is what you prefer. I’ve read reviews saying that this does stay on 8-12 hours with no reapplication, so hopefully! If not, it’s a nude shade, so not a big deal if it does go a bit patchy. I think that this will quickly become my ‘go-to’ lipstick when I don’t want to wear a bold one. Gorgeous shade that I recommend to all! 35: This is a nice true-red lipstick. It’s easy to apply and gives you a strong, bold lip. Really beautiful shade and I look forward to wearing this with a strong winged liner. These cost £6.99. As seen in the photograph, this applicator is a stretched out doe foot applicator.

IMG_9220

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet: 07 Nude-ist & 15 Red-volution

I wore 15 Red-volution last night when out at a bar with friends. This involved eating and drinking and it stayed on all night. Annoyed the hell out of my boyfriend as I kept asking if it had worn off, but it seemed to stay on all night! I reapplied it once, after I’d eaten a burger, but it didn’t really need it. This is a gorgeous berry red with blue undertones. This was £8.99, which is a bit pricey, but for such a lovely product! Haven’t tried 07 yet, but it’s a nice nude with a more pinky tone to it. This wore more comfortably than the sleek liquid lippie also. This is a doe foot applicator, which makes applying it with no mirror a bit easier!

January – April Favourites

So i’ve done like 2 posts this year – my bad. It’s not that i’ve lost interest in blogging, more just that I can’t think of what to post & that I don’t really have the time. Perhaps I will post more in the Summer…

So as a lil catch-up post, I thought that I should tell you about what i’ve been loving this year. I’ll tell you about basically everything – both beauty and non-beauty related! As a quick catch-up, I’m in my last year of school, so everything is a bit hectic at the moment.. only a fortnight until i’m off for study leave! Repierced my ear, so I have 9 piercingzzz now.. I’m sure there are more new things, but I just can’t think of any! Perhaps I will remember as I do more posts! 🙂

So anyway, things I have been loving in 2016:

Non-beauty:

IMG_9006

So it was about January when my friends and I were talking about the dreams we had the previous night. It was at this stage that I went onto amazon and looked for a dream dictionary and found this book by Tony Crisp. (Earlier that month I bought a book called ‘The master key system’, which I am saving for the summer.) So yes, it arrived in the post however many days later and since then i’ve been reading about my friends’ and my dreams. It is such an interesting book and helps you to understand your unconscious mind.

IMG_8974

In December, when Starbucks had their seasonal coffees out, I tried my friend’s chai tea latte and holy mother it was amazing! Since then i’d been looking for something similar to make at home & this is it! This is such a nice relaxing drink. I mix it with milk and it then goes nice and foamy/creamy!

IMG_8975Earl Grey is my favourite kind of tea now. Earlier this year I was introduced to it by the boyfriend! He takes it with milk, but I prefer it black with 1 sugar! It is q fragrant and very tasty! This is my 2nd box… yum!

Kinda Beauty

IMG_8977

So for Christmas I was given Soap & Glory shower gels. I got the Sugar Crush one, which is the nicest smelling of all their body products! It is like a soft citrus scent and costs only £6.50 It makes your skin so soft and it foams up lotssss in the shower! This has lasted 4 months, which is crazy to me because shower gel is always the quickest to run out for me! There’s about a third of it left also! -Crazy.

In March I bought both the ‘luxurious moisture‘ shampoo and conditioner by TRESemme. This says that it is for ‘dry or dull hair’. Although my hair wasn’t really dull or dry, I bought it because my hair had become frizzy as I had been changing my shampoos up too much. These were really cheap at the time too, so my friend urged me to pick up the conditioner too – I didn’t really use conditioner much previously. I can honestly say, since I stuck to the same shampoo and conditioner, my hair is feeling so much nicer. It stays clean for 2-3 days before I need to wash it again also! This smells good also, not so much a fruity smell, but a salon-shampoo kinda smell! These cost about £4 each.

IMG_8976

For my face i’ve been using 2 different face scrubs: Garnier pure 3 in 1 wash scrub & mask and Clean & Clear daily exfoliating daily wash. The Garnier one, £3.79, I use as a mask. I would cleanse my face first and then rub this onto my tzone and then leave it for about 3 minutes. You can feel this tingle while it is on and when it is washed off your skin is sooooo smooth. I used this about once a week – because it is so strong! As for the clean and clear one, £3.10, I used this more regularly because it was much more gentle. This could also be used everyday.

I got the Neutrogena visibly clear facial wash for £4.69. This smells amazing and fresh, like grapefruit. I’d say this is a good cleanser as my skin has that clean feeling after using it!

Lastly in skincare is coconut oil. I’ve replaced my moisturiser for this. At night time I would massage this onto my face for like 5 minutes and then go to sleep. The next morning I then wake up with the softest skin in the world! I would then take a little bit and apply it to my face again, before I apply my makeup. If it is too oily I then blot it off (after about 5 minutes) with a soft towel and apply my makeup. Such an easy product with such good results! You should definitely try this out – especially if you have dry skin!

Beauty Favourites:

IMG_8978

Maybelline Master Precise Black liquid eyeliner  £5.99

This is a really true-black pigment. It stays on all day and is thin enough to go very close to the lash line, but is also very easy to thicken up. Lasts quite long also.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara £7.99

IMG_8984

I know I used to say that I hated all plastic-wands as they were sore to apply (?) But it turns out, for me, this is only no.7 mascaras. So this makes my lashes really long with a bit of curl. This stays on all day and doesn’t flake off.

Benefit Roller Lash mascara £19.50

When coming home from Liverpool I bought this mascara in duty free, so it was a bit cheaper. (Not sure how much I paid!) This mascara is amazing! I find that this however is quite similar to the Rimmel and Essence mascaras though, so I save this for nights out or whatever. But, really great product and worth the money if you’re willing to spend it!

Essence Maximum definition volume mascara £2.99

This is such a little gem! This is another one with a plastic wand. The formula isn’t waterproof though, so if your eyes water a lot it could be a problem. But, nonetheless, it is a really nice wand and gives the lashes a really nice curl.

I will probs do a post (at some stage) of each of these mascaras on the lashes.

IMG_8978

Collection Eye Brow Kit Brunette £3.99

IMG_8987

I use the light shade of this everyday to fill in my browns and occasionally the darker colours to do stronger/defined brows. This is also so pigmented. Like i bought this last August and only just hit pan on it!

Natural Collection Mocha/Latte eyeshadow £1.99

The brown shade in this duo is soooo beautiful. It is such a soft brown. I use it in my crease, as a smoked out lid colour, or as a smokey undereye shade. Really gorgeous and is so easy to layer up.

Bourjois Shade 08 little round pot eyeshadow £5.99

Again this is in my favourites. Recently i’ve been using this only in my inner corner as a highlight. I use a really small, compact eyeshadow brush and apply it to my inner corner to give a really brightened effect.

IMG_8990

Boutique Bronzer

IMG_8993

So this product is from Sainsburys. I bought it for £9, if I remember correctly.  Recently i’ve been using this everyday on my cheeks and forehead contour. I use this as a bronzer and not a contour as it is more or a warm toned product. A big fluffy brush is perfect for this!

Maybelline Super Stay24hr Foundation

This was the first proper foundation that I ever bought. But, it has now been reformulated and a new, nicer packaging is on it. This comes in a pale enough shade for me,so I bough it again recently. I found that, because it was such a high-coverage product, that it was a bit cakey with how i’d been applying it- onto moisturised skin with a buffing brush. Now I apply it to my face, after the coconut oil has been applied, with a dampened complexion sponge from Real Techniques. This nicely covers up whatever redness is on my face, but doesn’t cover up my freckles! A nice natural-ish finish! This costs £8.99

Benefit Feelin’ DANDY Cheeks & Lip Palette

This was also bought when I was coming home from Liverpool, but sells for £25.50 in Boots. I’d always wanted to buy the dandelion blusher, as well as the highbeam highlighter. I love all of the products inside this. The lipgloss tastes like grapefruit and is such a nice feeling on the lipsss. It isn’t sticky or gritty, it just feels like a lipbalm, but makes your lips all glossy. The blusher is such a subtle shade of pink and the liquid blusher/liptint gives a nice flush of colour. My favourite inside this set though has to be the highlighter. I dab this on the high-points of my face and this gives the nicest glow. It isn’t sparkly and it isn’t too shiny. Perfecccct.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I love this for applying foundation. I dampen this before use to give a really nice natural application of foundation. for £5.99 this is such a cheap product that every girl – who wears foundation – needs in her makeup bag!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

IMG_8993

I use this cool-toned bronzer to contour. This is really good and comes with a little brush – which can be used to contour! My friend gave me this & i’m so glad, as I probably wouldn’t have bought it myself because i’m always a bit sceptical about pricey makeup products as this is £23.50.

Maybelline Matte Maker pressed powder

I like this simply because it was cheap, £3.99, it came in a light enough shade for my pasty pale skin and it isn’t cakey!

Sleek Matte Me 436 Birthday Suit matte lip £4.99. This matte lip cream, although somewhat difficult to apply, is a really brilliant product. It’s a nice naturalish shade and stays on a lonnnnnng time. It also doesn’t feel too drying when on le lips either!

L’oreal Girl On Top Lipgloss

This is just a nice girly pink gloss. Not too sticky and no gritty glitter! The applicator on this is a weird shape, which I like too! This is £6.99. For something that lasts ageees that isn’t so bad either!

IMG_9000

Mac Studded kiss & Diva lipstick

May as well talk about these two together because they’re so similar. They are both amazing. I love how deep they are and how long lasting. I’d say Diva lasts a bit longer and is more dark in comparison to studded kiss, which is slightly more orange-red toned but is still very dark – more of a vibrant red perhaps? These cost £15.50 each, which yes is crazy, but I don’t even care! I love wearing these and it makes it more special when I do.

The Bodyshop 340 colour crush lipstick £10

IMG_9004

This is such a nice plum/purple tint. I would wear this by itself for a lil bit of purpley colour, or on top of another lipstick to darken it up. It is one of my favourite lipsticks! This is a really moisturising one too.

Revolution lipstick -? £1

Firstly, gotta say that I don’t know the name of this one! I bought this because of how amazing it looked before use. It looks pure black with the best shine to it. Plus, it’s £1… who really cares if it was shite…? It wasn’t either! This is reallly nice smudged on the lips. When I wear this I apply it and then blend it in with my finger – because it is so pigmented, but also so moisturising? As it is so pigmented and also so moisturising it almost has a streak to it? But this easily blends in. The smell of this is like fruit pastels and is amazing! This could also be used to darken up another lipstick!

Rimmel 700 Naughty Nude Lipstick

IMG_9005

This is a newer lipstick from Rimmel. This goes on feeling really moisturising, but then locks down and stays on for ages! I love this brownish shade too, as a natural/nude colour. It’s so strange because it has a veryyyy subtle gloss effect, but it also feels matte? so weird. For £6.99 this one doesn’t disappoint!

So I hope you enjoyed my overdue favourites! Hoping you’ve all had a fabbbb 2016 so far & hope to be posting more… soon! (If you’ve made it this far, hi B.N)  Much much love,

Stephanie x

The best of 2015 pt. 2

So here is the 2nd part of my favourite products of 2015! Hope you enjoy!;

EYES;

IMG_7293

Collection is a brand that are very hit or miss with me. This brow powder set however is one of the best that i’ve used. I love that this comes with 3 shades, so there is a shade for very natural brows and statement brows. perfecto! A brow gel that keeps the lil brow hairs neat and tidy is also included in this. IMG_7272

I’ve been trying so many different pen liners since 2014. This pen is amazing! Once again Maybelline steal the limelight for best drugstore pen liner. It is slim enough to give a natural line and the formula is amazing and stays on all day! The perfect black.IMG_7273

eyeko is a brand that i’ve never used before, until this product. My friend got this in a set, but she doesn’t use brown liner so passed it on to me. The tip of this is the best. The formula is wet, but dries in seconds. Nice dark brown shade also. I’d safely say this is the best eyeliner i’ve ever used!

IMG_7288

The best mascara award is joint between 2 maybelline favourites. The falsies give my lashes the perfect curl whilst the BIG EYES mascara opens them up like crazy! I love the lowerlash mascara wand that comes with this.

IMG_7285

Soap & Glory’s it’s about prime is the best primer i’ve ever used for my eyes. It stops my shadow from creasing and it makes the shadows much more pigmented and apply more smoothly. I like to apply this and then set it with pressed powder, then I apply my shadows.

Next to that is the Maybelline colour tattoo. I have it in bad to the bronze. The perfect base. Lovely shade and doesn’t crease. Easy to layer up and perfect on its own.

catrice

Once again Catrice, Starlight Expresso has made it to my favourites. I love to use this for the perfect smokey eye. It is also perfect to put in the crease for a nice, natural look.

IMG_7278

MUA are my favourite brand for palettes. This particular palette is heaven & earth. The perfect cool and warm tone browns and perfect highlight shades. These are so cheap and the quality is amazing!! This and the undress me 2 palette are amazinggg!

So I have 2 nude faves and one bold one. Naked Beige from Soap & Glory is the most comfortable, most flattering shade that i’ve ever used on my lips. The colour stays on nicely and feels amazing. Asia, by Rimmel London is a nice mauve shade which also has great lasting power.

Mac‘s Diva is such an amazing shade. The perfect dark red. It goes on creamy and then sets as a matte. Really lovely vampy shade.

IMG_7289

Nothing gives my foundation a better finish than when I apply it with a dampened beauty sponge by Real Techniques. This is the perfect applicator for a natural finish.

If I were only allowed 2 more shadow applicators it would have to be MUA’s E3 and No.7‘s Blend and Contour. The no.7 one is perfect for blending eyeshadows together while the MUA one is perfect for smoking the shades out.

IMG_7270

So my last 2015 favourite is the Body Shop‘s mango body whip. I love the creaminess of this fruity scented cream. After about 3 uses your skin is softer than a baby’s butt! Love love LOVE!

So I hope you all had a faaaab 2015 & I apologise for these being written so late. Hope to be doing more regular posts this year.. hopefully!

Much Love,

Stephanie!

Beginner’s Makeup Bag

Hi there beauties! Hope you are all having a great week! (I’m not, i’m back to school!!) Recently I got a little comment from another blogger about what would be suitable for a first makeup bag! I’ve been thinking this through for the past few days, thinking about what products I first had and what products I love using now! I figured i’ll do two sides to this post – a cheaper and slightly more expensive option for the majority of products. Obviously I don’t think that everyone should be wearing a full face of makeup everyday, you can all pick and choose which you would like to include in your makeup bag! Everyday is a different day and you can change up your looks accordingly! I’m not going to go on a big rant about how you are beautiful both with and without makeup, because who actually wants to read that?

So, on with the post! My Beginner’s Makeup Bag:

BAG:

I highly recommend the Zoella makeup bag range. They are the perfect size for all o your makeup goodies! She has a few different designs selling for £7.

For your FACE:

w7 Prime Magic £4 && Benefit the POREfessional £24.50

Prime Magic is my favourite primer of all time. A tiny amount applied on your face gives your foundation such a smooth application and makes sure that it stays on all day. I had a tester size of the porefessional and it was good, but, I certainly wouldn’t spend any more than £4 on a primer now!!

True Match £9.99 &&& Rimmel Match Perfection £7.99

The true match foundation has such a lovely feeling on your skin. It is a thin, liquidy formula that blends in so perfectly. This also comes in a huge range of tones and shades. The Match Perfection foundation is often on sale for about a fiver. This has ore of a dewy finish on the skin. This is medium coverage that gives your skin such a natural glow.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer £10 &&& Benefit Boi-ing concealer £17.50

The soap & glory concealer is actually the best one that I have used. The consistency is so creamy. There are two shades – one for red patches and one for under eye circles. There is also a translucent powder to set the concealers. These are the best in the drugstore! Meanwhile there’s the Boi-ing concealer which is thick and creamy. It’s a good one too, but I honestly prefer the soap & glory one for my skin type.

Collection Sheer Loose Powder £2.99 &&& Maybelline Matte Maker £3.99

Two amazing powders. The collection one is perfect for paler skin and it sets foundation perfectly without leaving you with a ‘cakey’ finish. The Miracle Matte Maker is the best pressed powder i have ever used. I have sworn off all other powders and they just ended up looking chalky on my skin. This is perfect though.

Natural Collection Blushers £1.99 &&& Soap & Glory Love at First Blush £11

Natural Collection do amazing blushers. They range from light pinks to medium-dark reds. The pigmentation is fantastic and it applies so so smoothly too. Meanwhile you will never feel more glowey than when you are wearing the Soap & Glory Love at First Blush. This is such a lovely neutral pink with the most gorgeous amount of shimmer.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze £13 &&& Soap & Glory Solar Powder £11

Yes there might not be much of a comparison in price between these 2, but I can honestly say they are the best 2 I have ever used. They are both so incredibly smooth The Body Shop is all one matte colour which is perfect for paler skin to do contouring. Meanwhile the Solar Powder is half matte contour powder and half highlighter. The highlighter is beautiful also as it is so subtle!

Sleek

Sleek Face Form £9.99

This is the only highlighter that I recommend to you. This is so lovely and it gives your skin such a beautiful, elegant glow. I wear this everyday and love the ‘life’ that it brings to my cheeks!

Eco Tools Powder Brush £9.99 && Real Techniques Blusher Brush & Contour brush £9.99

These are all fantastic brushes. I do recommend the Real Techniques Powder brush as well, as a more expensive option at £12.99. Each of these apply and blend in the products so perfectly.

For your EYES::

Mac Paint Pot Chrome Angel £16 && S&G It’s About Prime £4

So the mac product is a base whilst the S&G product is a primer. They are both paler shades, I much prefer this in bases as it helps the eyeshadow colours ‘pop’. They both make your eyeshadow last all day and they both apply very easily.

Revolution Flawless Matte £8>> MUA undress me too £4 && w7 In The Nude £5.99

Revolution, without a doubt, are THE best drugstore makeup brand for eyeshadows. They are so creamy, so highly pigmented and just blend in perfectly. The MUA palette above is the perfect dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette. It has 12 brilliant shades for any look! The w7 palette is a dupe for the U.D Naked 3 palette. I love this palette for brown eyes! Such a brilliant one!

IMG_6791

MUA E3 blending brush £1.95 && No.7 Blending & Contour Brush £8

Both of these brushes are amazing. They both blend in your eyeshadows so perfectly. I recommend them both. The no.7 brush has slightly looser bristles, meaning that it is a slightly softer application on your lids.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Permanent Taupe £4.99 && Collection Eye Brow Kit £3.99&& Maybelline Brow Drama £4.99

So i you have brunette or blonde hair the colour tattoo is perfect for your brows. Not only does it fill them in, but it sets them in place too. The collection brow kit is perfect as it has 3 shades to use and also a handy clear brow gel! Lastly the brow drama is brilliant. Mine is tinted, so it is perfect for either filling your brows in or just setting them!

IMG_6784

Seventeen Perk & Paint £3.99 && Collection Kohl Eyeliner £1.99

These are both brilliantly priced liners, I actually recommend them both! The collection one, once applied doesn’t budge all day! The seventeen one is the same. It also creates the perfect smokey liner look too!

IMG_6782

Eyeko Liquid Liner £15 && Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner £5.99

These both do the same job. Very easy application – especially for beginners. I really love the tip of the eyeko pen as it helps to create such a nice flick to my liner. The Maybelline liner is very pigmented and also stays on all day – however, it isn’t waterproof.

IMG_6792

L’oreal Super Liner (Lacquer) £6.49 && Collection Fast Stroke £1.99

If you would prefer to use liquid liners then these are the 2 I think you should try! The L’oreal liner has such a slim applicator, making it so easy to apply a perfect, thin line. It stays all day and is very pigmented. I also love the Collection liner. It stays on all day also, but the applicator is a bit thicker so it can be easier – or harder to used depending on your application method!

IMG_6789

Mac Edge to Edge £12.50  && Rimmel East End Snob £3.99

Both of these are wonderful nude liners. I honestly do prefer the mac one as it stays on my lips all day and matches my lip colour perfectly, but the east end snob is a lovely nude colour that is very creamy to apply!

IMG_6788

Kate Moss lipstick 08 £5.49 && Julianne L’oreal £6.99

Both of these are lovely creamy nude lipsticks. The Kate Moss one has more of a mauve/brown undertone whilst the Julianne one is slightly more pink. I think the smell of Julianne lipstick is a bit strong and you mightn’t like it, but the colour is so lovely!

So thanks to iamjustnicole for inspiring me to do this post!
